Enjoy the Beauty of God's Creation With Me

I love to walk and hike and take pictures of what I see...

To share with others...

One of my greatest passions is being out in nature enjoying the beauty and soaking in the presence of God which is in what He has made. This is a place I can hear myself and God most clearly and pray most effectively. I have always loved the outdoors. Even as a child you could find me hiking in the hills around my home.

After over 20 years of driving my kids to school every morning, when my youngest child graduated in 2010, I began to use the time I had used driving five kids to school for myself. I began to walk regularly in the hills and on all of the trails around my home. I never knew it would become such a healing, focal point in my life. I started to take pictures and post them. And people liked them.

Nature is Therapy

According to Scripture God’s presence and nature can be seen (and felt) in the things He has made.

Romans 1:19-20 – Because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

Even the scientific world is beginning to recognize the healing power in nature. They might not realize it is God, but His presence can be tangibly felt and taken in through what He has made. They have even given the therapeutic quality in nature a name, “Ecotherapy.”

Ecotherapy is based on the idea that people are connected to and impacted by the natural environment. A growing body of research highlights the positive benefits of connecting with nature. The beneficial effects of nature result not only from what people see but from what they experience through other senses as well. For example, in one recent study, participants recovered more quickly from psychological stress when they were exposed to nature sounds (from a fountain and tweeting birds) than when they were exposed to road traffic noise.

For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
